INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEERS DAY, 2020

The United Nations has set aside the 5th of December as the International Volunteers Day -IVD. The theme for this year is “Together We Can”. This is a clarion call towards achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. The IVD is in honor of the millions of people who are the engine room of humanitarian activities all over the world, even in its most volatile regions. These actors dedicate their skills, time and other resources to the welfare of others.

GWAF DIRECT AID IN THE TIME OF COVID-19 APPRECIATION FROM BENEFICIARIES:

One of GWAF's key objectives is the provision of Direct Aid (material support) for elderly care homes which deliver care services to the elderly including Dementia sufferers.

GWAF MAKES COVID-19 CASE FOR DEMENTIA SUFFERERS

The Alliance for Aging Research (Alliance) and the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) are urging businesses, schools, and federal and state governments to work together to mitigate community spread of COVID-19 and help protect older adults and those with pre-existing medical conditions (such as high blood pressure, heart disease, lung disease, cancer, and/or diabetes), including Alzheimer’s disease

LOCAL PLANT INSPIRES HOPE FOR ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE

In a June 2017 research study published in the journal Pharmaceutical Biology, a tree extract (stem, leaves, and roots), from a perennial shrub native to West African rainforests called Carpolobialutea was discovered to have anticholinesterase and antioxidant properties.
