GWAF DIRECT AID IN THE TIME OF COVID-19 APPRECIATION FROM BENEFICIARIES

One of GWAF's key objectives is the provision of Direct Aid (material support) for elderly care homes which deliver care services to the elderly including Dementia sufferers.

In light of the challenges to the general well-being of the Nigerian populace posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chair of the Board of Trustees expressed her desire that our foundation support selected residential care institutions for the elderly in the GWAF network. We therefore invited the authorised representative of several esteemed elderly care home to complete a Beneficiary Information form and to make a list of needs for your home to the value of no more than N100,000.00 [One hundred thousand naira only].

We specified terms of reference: The items must be competitively costed on the market and photographed with the authorised representative of the institution upon purchase. The photographs needed to demonstrate to the Board of Trustees of GWAF that the funds were well-spent as agreed in writing by Olatoun Gabi-Williams, GWAF trustee and the authorised representative of the elderly care home.

The Direct Aid photographs are for display on the GWAF website and on our social media handles which include our GWAF Community group on Facebook. A cover letter detailing the purchased items accompanied the photographs.
