GWAF INAUGURATES HER HEALTH ADVOCACY AND MEDICAL OUTREACH.

GWAF conducted her inaugural Health and Medical Outreach at the RCCG LP6 annual event held on the 20th November, 2021 at RCCG Jesus Assembly, Mega Chicken, Lekki-Ajah express way, Lagos, Nigeria.

The Objective is to attend to the common basic medical conditions of the elderly and encourage healthy living and early preparation for ‘age well’ approaches to living, in all aspects of living.

The inclusion of such advocacy in our intervention will enhance our delivery and bring positive impact on the beneficiaries mostly the senior citizens. It will also add value to healthy ageing and reduce the burden of ageism in the society.

The outreach was supported by the Lagos State College of Nursing, Igando with 10 student nurses and 2 staff who volunteered in conducting the needed basic screening (BMI, BP and sugar level check) at the outreach. Other 4 health professionals, who served as resource persons spoke on differs fields relating to healthy ageing, including Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.

About 125 Senior Citizens and were reached at the program.
